We believe that every girl and young woman should have the chance at success. The BARDOU Academy aims to help girls and young women who are vulnerable, unemployed or lack the familial support to make significant change in their lives.
The Academy program gives women the practical skill and emotional support they need to stabilise their lives. We help them develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation.
Our grant program gives women the support they need to stabilise their lives. We help them on the path to develop key skills while boosting their confidence and motivation. Our program equips women to earn money, regain their confidence and actively participate in their communities. When a young woman is accepted onto The BARDOU Foundation program, she comes into contact with other women in similar situations, forming a tight support group that helps to break the isolation caused by financial and emotional insecurity.
After our grantees complete their training, we continue to support their economic empowerment by connecting them to financial services, advanced business and vocational trainings, and support networks to increase their ability to earn, save, and access capital. We also aim to employ the new stylists into the BARDOU business.
“The BARDOU Foundation helped me to increase my earning potential with a grant that allowed me to train on advance hair extension techniques. I wouldn’t have been able to pay for it on my own, at it was completely out of my reach” - Olivia, 25, London (previous grant recipient)
