OF THE GIRL CHILD
In 2011, the UN declared 11th of October as International Day of the Girl Child (The IDG).
The BARDOU Foundation seeks to bring attention to the needs of girls around the world. There are 1.1 billion girls in the world today younger than the age of 18, a powerful constituency with the ability to shape our future. They are brimming with talent and creativity; these girls need to be allowed the freedom to attain their hopes and dreams without fear of discrimination, abuse, violence and lack of equal opportunities. Adolescent girls have the right to a safe, educated and healthy life, not only during these critical formative years, but also as they mature into women.
With the right support, girls have the potential to change the world – both as the empowered girls of today and as tomorrow’s workers, mothers, entrepreneurs, mentors and political leaders. On the International Day of the Girl Child, we stand with the global community to support girls’ progress everywhere.

WELLBEING OF WOMEN
Founded 54 years ago, Wellbeing of Women is one of the only charities finding cures and treatments across the breadth of female reproductive health including pregnancy and childbirth, fertility and IVF, gynaecological cancers, and overlooked areas like endometriosis, PCOS and the menopause. With only 2.48% of publicly funded research devoted to this area, our work is vital.
Nearly every routine treatment we take for granted today has come about thanks to our work.
THE CHILDREN’S CHARITY
The NSPCC’s Alexandra Ciardi House in Camden was originally made possible by the generous support of Richard Caring and The Children’s Charity for the Good of All Children.
It gives children in London who've been sexually abused an access to a complete range of services from dedicated experts, all under one roof. It means a child won't have to re-tell their experience multiple times in multiple places. They'll get all the support they need in one place. An advocate will guide the young person and their family through the journey of recovery, helping them access medical care, police and social worker assistance and therapeutic support more easily and quickly.
This helps them stay safe, build resilience and to recover from abuse they have experienced. It is a focal point for transforming children’s lives.

The IDG event 2017
Although poker is commonly associated with gambling, its history began as a purely social competition. Think matchsticks.
Each charity receives an equal donation to take part.
It is primarily a game of skill over the long run, however, in the short term, luck plays a very large part.
Millions of people enjoy playing poker around the world. It is an easy-to-learn card game with a statistical element. It is enjoyed throughout the homes of many Britons and has been a commonly-played game here for decades.
Poker is also a game enjoyed by millions of highly engaged online viewers around the world. The incredible growth of online live video content offers an opportunity for us to reach a huge audience with this unique event.
We believe there is a high correlation between engaged video content consumers and socially conscious issues such as charitable giving.
The live stream of the Charity Celebrity Poker Game” will drive donations and awareness on an international scale, to engaged micro-donors.
The IDG 2018 poker event has been structured as a social competition with no capital at risk and does therefore not qualify as gambling.
