INTERNATIONAL DAY

OF THE GIRL CHILD

In 2011, the UN declared 11th of October as International Day of the Girl Child (The IDGC).

The BARDOU Foundation seeks to bring attention to the needs of girls around the world. There are 1.1 billion girls in the world today younger than the age of 18, a powerful constituency with the ability to shape our future. They are brimming with talent and creativity; these girls need to be allowed the freedom to attain their hopes and dreams without fear of discrimination, abuse, violence and lack of equal opportunities. Adolescent girls have the right to a safe, educated and healthy life, not only during these critical formative years, but also as they mature into women.

With the right support, girls have the potential to change the world – both as the empowered girls of today and as tomorrow’s workers, mothers, entrepreneurs, mentors and political leaders. On the International Day of the Girl Child, we stand with the global community to support girls’ progress everywhere.

IN SUPPORT OF
THE PRINCE’S
TRUST

The Prince’s Trust works hard to create brighter futures for young people aged 11 to 30, empowering them to get into jobs, education and training. Last year The Prince’s Trust helped over 20,000 young women achieve their potential. Their community, Women Supporting Women, is made up of like-minded, successful females committed to changing young women’s lives. No young woman’s future should be defined by her circumstance. Yet across the UK, thousands of young women and girls are deprived of the best start in life. Women Supporting Women cares passionately about helping young women achieve their potential.

BIZWORLD UK

The BizWorld foundation was originally set up in 1997 in Silicon Valley by venture capitalist Tim Draper who saw a need for inspiring entrepreneurship in children.

BizWorld UK provides fun, project-based programmes that promote financial responsibility, leadership and teamwork skills for 10-13 year old students. By teaching them these skills, children become 21st Century thinkers

A donation to BizWorld.org is a powerful way to help offer all children the skills they need to succeed.

LUMINARY BAKERY

In the UK, thousands of women experience poverty, homelessness, violence or criminal activity; this creates disadvantage, it attacks their self-belief & it drastically reduces the opportunities available to them.

The Luminary Bakery is a social enterprise based in East London; providing training, community & employment opportunities for some of the UK's most disadvantaged women.

Luminary exists for these women. We offer skills training, paid employment and a supportive community to help women thrive.

WELLBEING OF WOMEN

Founded 54 years ago, Wellbeing of Women is one of the only charities finding cures and treatments across the breadth of female reproductive health including pregnancy and childbirth, fertility and IVF, gynaecological cancers, and overlooked areas like endometriosis, PCOS and the menopause. With only 2.48% of publicly funded research devoted to this area, our work is vital.

Nearly every routine treatment we take for granted today has come about thanks to our work.
